We all admire Whangarei Falls and Parahaka

Jenny wasn't feeling well but she gamely accompanied us to the carpark at Whangarei Falls. She then said she'd go walking for a bit at least, and 3 and a bit hours later we came out at the other end.

We were planning on doing this as a two stage walk - before and after lunch, but part of the track was washed away forcing us to do a detour onto the second part of the track.

Bruce and I had blithely begun without any food or water, as we were only doing the first half - two hours. By the end of it I was very hungry and looking forward to our cafe stop.

I have run out of adjectives for the gorgeous forest, ferns and paths so I'll leave you with the photos.

After lunch Bruce and I drove around Whangarei and did some shopping, then we returned to watch the Bristish comedy "the Duke" with Jenny, Ross and Shona.
